Accessible shower solutions with tiles
Whether a new build or renovation – tiled shower solutions are the latest trend in bathroom design. And it’s not surprising: showers that are designed to offer a seamless transition with the rest of the bathroom floor in terms of surface area and colour make the bathroom as a whole appear larger and are incredibly modern, placing a clear emphasis on design. They also ensure greater comfort in the bathroom. Floor-flush showers offer a generous amount of space and showering pleasure without troublesome steps.
Floor-flush showers are also easy to clean. They just need a wipe down when cleaning the bathroom – that’s all there is to it. Of course, tiles also offer the necessary slip resistance. Sebastian Diener from Product Management at V&B Fliesen GmbH explains: “Mosaic tiles are ideal for floor-flush showers as they generally offer barefoot A or even barefoot B slip resistance. The large number of joins created when laying small-format tiles also offer additional slip resistance.” Furthermore, with mosaics, the tiler can easily create the gradient needed for the water outlet – regardless of where and how the outlet is to be installed:
centrally, on the wall, visibly, concealed or as drainage channel. “The Villeroy & Boch Tiles collection also includes various ranges that are available in large formats with barefoot B slip resistance and that can be used to create a very homogeneous floor. They are also ideal for modern drainage systems that can be installed in a line along the wall, for example."
However, tiles are not just ideal for shower floors but they can also be used to create interesting highlights on the walls. Dark tiles, for example, anthracite, combined with glass and white sanitary ceramic give the bathroom a timeless elegance, whilst light tiles in earth and crème tones ensure a natural, comfortable environment. Interesting contrasts are created when combining light and dark tiles. Tone-on-tone shades give the room a special harmony. And colour is also popular in the shower area: whether on-trend colours, such as Mint or Petrol, or gentle colour gradations is entirely a matter of personal taste. There’s no doubt that the tiled shower solution is a great eye-catcher. Here are some examples:
Simple and clear-cut
The CROSSOVER tile range by Villeroy & Boch Tiles can be used to create an attractive walk-in shower solution that is both open and spacious. The modular porcelain stoneware concept is inspired by volcanic rock; the tiles are available in Beige, Grey and Anthracite.

Harmonious walls and floor
With contemporary formats, fine, cloudy surface structures and coordinating colours, the GROUND LINE floor tiles in combination with the MOOD LINE wall tiles – both by Villeroy & Boch – enable timelessly modern shower solutions. Mounting an item of bathroom furniture on the tiled partition of the open shower creates additional space – an ideal solution (not only) in small bathrooms.
Straight-lined and contemporary
The TIMELINE collection by Villeroy & Boch Tiles gives the bathroom an understated and stylish charm with interesting, harmonious colours. By combining dark with lighter tones they can be used to skilfully emphasise the proportions of a room. The tiles with the simple stripes and silk-matt surfaces are laid either vertically or horizontally. The Bernina porcelain stoneware range offers matching floor tiles. This range is particularly attractive thanks to harmonious colour nuances, a fine, sandy surface structure and a discreet shimmer.

So beautiful you want to reach out and touch them
The TALKABOUT tile range by Villeroy & Boch Tiles combines attractive colours with an extraordinary feel: beautifully worked reliefs add an additional dimension to the harmonious colours with a perceptible sense of depth. The colour spectrum enables harmonious combinations, such as Beige, Brown and Red, which give the bathroom a wonderful feeling of warmth. The FIVE SENSES tile range with a modified sandstone structure is ideal for the floor and is available in eight colours in the Grey-Brown-Beige spectrum.
