The striking tap design is linked to Villeroy & Boch’s history in every single detail. Named after the famous “Mettlach tiles”, the tap embraces their pattern as a high-quality relief structure.
The Mettlach tiles created by Villeroy & Boch in 1852 are inspired by Roman mosaics from the Mettlach Abbey. The tiles were the first global export success and can still be admired in numerous places steeped in history, such as in Cologne Cathedral or the Holland Tunnel under the Hudson River in New York. The coordinates of Mettlach Abbey were engraved in the lever joint as a rose to honour their historical origin.
